For those who use the excellent add on scenery produced by Orbx, Europe is one of the major areas of coverage, with the whole of the UK, Norway and part of Germany covered. This tour is designed to make good use of that scenery but of course the tour can be completed without the add on scenery. Special Thanks to BFL1731 John Forrest for putting this tour together for us. END DATE PERMANENT. Participants: 110 View Details |

![]() | Status: Active Description: In 2015 Buffalo Joe added a historic 1941 Naval Aircraft Factory N3N-3 to his private collection. CF-HUS, following a 12 year rebuild was fresh and ready to travel north from Pender Harbour to Yellowknife. Our tour is a tribute to this delivery flight which, when researched, you’ll learn was far from ordinary. Simulating this journey as flown was troublesome so we identified a comparable route. Thanks to our partnership with Golden Age Simulations they have offered our members special pricing for their exceptional N3N (a very fine repaint has also been created by BFL4869 - Curtis Renshaw). If you’re unable to consider this purchase a freeware conversion is available thanks to member BFL5672 - Will Friedman. Further to this, BFL4919 - Gavin Mclean has completed freeware seaplane bases for all locations not previously supporter OR where only Payware exists. Finally, Little Nav Map flight plans are also available to aid with identify seaplane bases. These flights are open to Ramp Hands and above; aircraft and seaplane bases are ONLY supportable in FSX through P3Dv5. This tour will not currently be available for use with X-Plane or MSFS. FSX AND P3D users MUST install freeware Seaplane Bases to accomplish this tour --> (CAG8, CAF8, CBJ8, CEY7, CEK7, CEF8, CEN9) add-on links are available in the Forum. Tour will be active May 1st through June 30th, 2023. Participants: 11 View Details |
![]() | Status: Active Description: In June 1948, The Soviet Union closed all road, rail and barge traffic into Berlin and declared that the East sector would not supply the West sector with essential supplies. The Western Allies had never negotiated a pact with the Soviets guaranteeing these passage rights. Although the ground routes had never been negotiated, the same was not true of the air. On November 30, 1945, it was agreed, in writing, there would be three twenty-mile wide air corridors providing free access to the city and so the Berlin Airlift was proposed and put into operation. For this Tour we will be flying from two of the original bases used in the Airlift and from Hamburg to simulate the Flying Boat base on the river Elbe. The USAF will use the C54/DC4 from Wiesbaden into Templehof while the RAF will use the C47/DC3 from Wunstorf into Tegel. The original airport at Gatow used by the RAF in Berlin no longer exists. The RAF flying boat route will use the PBY into Schonefeld. The legs flown must use the three air corridors into and out of Berlin, pilots must use IFR at all times and remain below 7000’; rules brought in following the Black Friday incidents on 28th June 1948. This tour is dedicated to 101 aircrew and others who lost their lives serving the peoples of West Berlin. These flights are open to Flight Attendant and above; all airports are supportable in FSX, P3D, *X-Plane. *XP pilots may require add-on scenery for EDDI and EDDT. All who complete the tour by July 31st (either this AND/OR the MSFS friendly version) will receive a single entry towards the random drawing to win an ORBX Scenery of their choice. Tour will be active June 1st through July 31st, 2023. Participants: 12 View Details |
